LOOK BEHIND YOU. AKA and see "Lassie Look Behind You/Ye," "Lady Anne Gordon's Reel," "House of Letterfourie (The)." Scottish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by William Marshall (1748-1833) who titled it "House of Letterfourie (The)" and published it in his First Collection of 1781. The title above is the one Gow used when he reprinted the tune in his Repository, Part Second, 1802, without credit to Marshall. It was entered (as "Look behind you") in the 1840 music manuscript collection of multi-instrumentalist John Rook, of Waverton, near Wigton, Cumbria.
