LORD SEYMOUR'S REEL. AKA and see "Seymour's Fancy." Irish, Reel (whole time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. The tune was entered into Book 2 of County Leitrim fiddler and piper Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894) as "Lord Seymour's Reel." However, it is a version of "Seymour's Fancy," an English reel published in London in 1793 by Thomas Preston. Francis O'Neill printed a version called "Comely Jane Downing."
