LOUGH DERG JIG. AKA and see "Father Kelly's Jig." Irish, Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. The earliest composition (1960) by Father P.J. Kelly, who called it "The Lough Derg Jig," although the tune is often called "Father Kelly's (Jig)". When he introduced the tune to his friends in County Galway, flute player Stephen Moloney (of the Ballinakill Céilí Band) said, "When you and I are dead that tune will still be alive." [N. Carolan].
