Fiddler Louis Riendeau (1900-1985) was the patriarch of a musical family of Acadian-Americans from Berlin, N.H. The tune is presumably one of the first tunes he learned to play when taking up the fiddle. Jean Duval remarks:
Louis Riendeau's version is interesting because the 2nd part is different from the usually played one. Soucy however played this (roughly) same part as a 3rd part of his "Reel Valcartier." This suggests that the Riendeau may have heard this album by Soucy.
