LOVER'S WRANGLE, THE. English, Jig and Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is unique to Samuel, Ann and Peter Thompson's Compleat Collection of 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 5 (London, 1788), where it is in a section of tunes dated "1785." It was perhaps first published by them that year in a collection of '24 Country Dances for the Year 1785'.
