MADHADH NA BPLANDIE. Irish. The tune was mentioned in a 1779 account by Berringer of a "cake" dance (where the prize was a cake) that he participated in while in traveling in Connacht. He noted in his diary that other tunes popular at the time (played on the pipes) were "Miss MacLeod's Reel," "Batha Buidhe," "Geese in the Bog (The)," "Roscommon Hunt (The)," and "Hare in the Corn (The)."
