MAMMA'S/MAMA'S/MAMMY'S PET [1] (Peata Mamaí). AKA - "Mamma's Pet." AKA and see "Downing's Reel," "Paddy's Pet," "Peata Mamaí," "Timothy Downing." Irish, Reel. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Kerr, Levey): AA'B (Goodman). The versions that Kerr (c. 1880) and Levey (1873) print seem to be an earlier form of the more modern tune, for which see "Mama's Pet (1)" and Mama's Pet (1). A version with a cognate first strain appears in the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper Canon James Goodman under the title “Mamma's Pet.”
