MAN FROM BARNAGROVE, THE. AKA - "Reavy's." Irish, Hornpipe. E Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by Philadelphia, Pa., fiddler and composer Ed Reavy (1898-1988), originally from Barnagrove, County Cavan. Fiddler James Kelly remarked: "This tune was recorded on a home-made disk some time in the mid-1950's and sent back to Ireland. It eventually found its way into my father's (Dublin fiddler John Kelly, Sr., originally from County Clare) extensive collection of 78 RPM recordings" (1996).
