MAN FROM SKYE, THE. AKA - "Wee Man from Skye (The)," "Wee Man (The)." Scottish, Hornpipe. A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'CCDD'. Composed in the 1950's by Pipe Major Donald MacLeod [1] (1917-1982) in honor of Donald MacLean of Lewis, who for a time taught bagpipes at a school in Skye. The tune is sometimes employed as a schottisch for ceildih dancing.
