MANDOLIN RAG. Old-Time, Country Rag. The tune was also recorded by Ted Hawkins Mountaineers, which featured Ted Hawkins on mandolin, and probably fiddler Lowe Stokes and guitarist Riley Puckett (and perhaps others). Hawkins, a sometime member of the Atlanta Skillet-Licker crowd of musicians, recorded the tune in Atlanta in December, 1930, for Columbia Records, but the side was unissued [Russell & Pinson, Country Music Records:A Discography, 1921-1942, 2004, p. 413].
