MARCHIONESS OF TWEEDALE [2], THE. Scottish, Reel (whole time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by Perthshire fiddler-composer biography:Duncan McKercher, the "Dunkeld Paganini." The Marchioness of Tweeddale in McKercher's time was Lady Susan Montagu (1797-1870), a daughter of the 5th Duke of Manchester, who in 1816 married George Hay, 8th Marquess of Tweeddale, a British army officer who rose to the rank of Field Marshall. The couple had six sons and eight daughters.
