MARKET RASEN QUICKSTEP. English, Quickstep March (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Gibbons originally set this tune in the key of 'C' major in his ms. The town of Market Rasen [1], Lincolnshire, is a small market town in the West Lindsey district. It was settled by the Saxons (and originally called East Rasen, mentioned in The Doomsday Book). Charles Dickens once called Market Rasen "the sleepiest town in England."
