MARLBOROUGH'S VICTORY. English, Country Dance Tune (2/2 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The tune and country dance directions appear in all four editions of John Young's Second Volume of the Dancing Master (1718-1728), and in Walsh & Hare's Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing-Master (1719).

The title would seem to honor John Churchill's [1] victory of Blenheim in which he and the able Prince Eugene of Savoy delivered a crushing defeat on Marshal Tallard's and the Elector of Bavaria's army at the Battle of Blenheim (1704).
