MARQUIS OF BOWMONT('S REEL) [2]. Scottish, Reel. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Cole): AAB (Manson, Marshall). Composed by William Marshall (1748-1833). The Marquis of Bowmont was James Henry Robert Innes-Ker (1816-1879), heir to the Dukedom of Roxburghe, according to Moyra Cowie (The Life and Times of William Marshall, 1999). He was the only surviving child of the 5th Duke of Roxburghe and was educated at Eton and Christ Church, Oxford. He inherited his father's titles in 1823.
