McGIBBNEY'S FANCY. AKA - "McGivney's Fancy," "McGibbney's Hornpipe." AKA and see "Cuckoo's Nest (4) (The)," "Cuckoo's Nest (14)," "Eamonn McGivney's," "Jacky Tar," "Mower (The)," "Spealadóir (An)." Irish, Hornpipe. E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune, remarks Irish musician and researcher Paul de Grae, was "named for Eamonn McGivney, Clare-based fiddler and the subject of the comic song "The Ordnance Survey Man" (his day job)." It is a version of the older and widespread British and Irish family of tunes derived from "The Cuckoo's Nest."
