McKINNON'S MARCH, THE.AKA - "Clan McKinnon's Quickstep," "MacKinnon's Marching Tune." Scottish, Pipe March (6/8 time). A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). "McKinnon's March" was first printed by William Ross, 'The Queen's Piper', in his 1869 collection of pipe tunes. Paul Cranford transcribed the same melody in cut time, based on fiddler Ashley MacIsaac's recording, finding that it is more descriptive of his playing of the tune.
