MEADOW , THE (An Moinfheir). Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is included as a Seán Ryan (1919-1985) composition called "Trip to Nenagh (2)" in Ryan's posthumously published collection Hidden Ireland (1988). Ryan recorded the reel in 1972 as "Trip to Nenagh," however it had previously been recorded by Finbarr Dwyer and John Regan as "The Meadow." The surviving Dwyer brothers, Richard and John (both composers themselves) insist that it was, in fact, composed by Finbarr.
