Composed by fiddler Brenda Stubbert (b. 1959, Point Aconi, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia) in honor of Northside (Cape Breton) Irish-style fiddler Joe Confiant (c. 1900–1985). Confiant was the uncle of fiddler Johnny Wilmot.
