MERRY DAYS OF EASTER [1], THE (Laete Soilbir na Casga). AKA - "Merry Time of Easter (The)." Irish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune appears in the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper Canon James Goodman under the title “Merry Time of Easter (The).” See also the related "Mick McKeigue's."
Source for notated version: "McFadden" [O'Neill]. Chicago fiddler John McFadden was an inventive musician who did not read music notation, but who was famous for his ability to improvise variations on the spot.
