MINNIE, PUT THE KETTLE ON. AKA - "Minnie put the Skillet on." American, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Source Curbow's version is a three-part, "crooked" (i.e. extra beats) tune. "Minnie Put the Kettle On" has similarities with Missouri fiddler Bob Holt's "Polly Put the Kettle On (6)," but it is a different tune than the perhaps more familiar "Polly Put the Kettle On" as played in Britain, Ireland, and elsewhere in North America.
