Source Curbow's version is a three-part, "crooked" (i.e. extra beats) tune. "Minnie Put the Kettle On" has similarities with Missouri fiddler Bob Holt's "Polly Put the Kettle On (6)," but it is a different tune than the perhaps more familiar "Polly Put the Kettle On" as played in Britain, Ireland, and elsewhere in North America.
