MINOT QUICKSTEP. American, March (3/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The title may refer to the town of Minot, Maine, named after George Minot (1758–1802), historian and judge of the General Court who had aided in the town's incorporation in 1802. The state of Maine was part of Massachusetts until 1820, joining the Union as part of the Missouri Compromise.
