MISS BANNISTER'S HORNPIPE. Scottish, English; Hornpipe (cut time). B Flat Major (Browne Family): D Major (Mackie). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Miss Bannister's Hornpipe" is contained in the music manuscript collections of William Mackie (Aberdeen, early 19th cent.) and the Browne Family (Lake District, Cumbria, c. 1825). The first strain is shared with Lake District fiddler William Irwin's untitled "Hornpipe (45)," but the second strain is different.
