MISS BURCHELL’S HUMOUR. English, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody, like many in Charles and Samuel Thompson’s 1757 collection, was also published in John Johnson’s 200 Favourite Country Dances (London, 1756). However, it first appeared in print with directions for a country dance in John Hinton's periodical The Universal Magazine of Knowledge and Pleasure (London, August, 1754, p. 74).
