MISS CHARLOTTE ANN LOWE. Scottish, Reel. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. The tune was composed by James McIntosh (1791–1879), a pupil of Niew Gow, and first pubished in Joseph Lowe's c. 1844 collection (Edinburgh). Lowe, from a family of dancing masters, was himself a dancing master and musician who practiced in Edinburgh, Inverness, Balmoral and Windsor, sometimes employed by the Royal Family. Charlotte Ann Lowe was Joseph's 2nd child, but eldest daughter, born in 1833. She married a surgeon, Fredrick Robson.
