MISS CHRISTIAN DUFF'S FAVORITE. Scottish, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). E Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Christian Duff was one of the six daughters (along with five sons) of Major H.R. Duff of Muirtown and his wife Sarah Louisa Forbes, who had been a celebrated beauty. She lived a short life, born in 1808 and died unmarried in 1825. Morrison indicates the tune was composed "by a Gentleman," and this may have been her father (for whome see "annotation:Mr. H.R. Duff's Favorite").
