MISS CROFTON. Irish, Planxty. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. This MS melody is a variant of "Lady Iveagh" and is often attributed to Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan, on the assumption it is written in his style. O'Sullivan thought so, enough to include it in his seminal 1958 work on the bard. O'Sullivan concluded that it was impossible to identify the person of the title.

Source for notated version: the Edward Bunting manuscript collection, where it appears with no source and no attribution [O'Sullivan].
