MISS DWYER’S REEL. AKA and see "Islander's Rant (The)," "Miss Gordon of Thorp's Reel." Scottish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Kennedy's "Miss Dwyer's Reel" appears to be a version of "Islander's Rant (The)," published in James Alexander's Alexander’s Fifty New Scotch & Irish Reels & Hornpipes (c. 1826). A version also can be found as "Miss Gordon of Thorp's Reel" in the turn of the 19th century collection of 37th Regiment (British) fifer John Buttery.
