"Miss Elspeth Campbell" is the most popular composition of Thomas Douglas, a native of Cowal, Argyll, who was born around the beginning of the 20th century. The march honors Miss Elsbeth Campbell (1873-1942), a founding member (and only woman) of the Piobaireachd Society. She was the daughter of Archibald Campbell, Lord Lorn, and granddaughter of the 8th Duke of Argyll.
