MISS GIBSON'S STRATHSPEY--PITLOCHRY. Scottish, Strathspey (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by Perthshire fiddler-composer biography:Duncan McKercher, the "Dunkeld Paganini." Pitlochry is now a town in the Perthshire Highlands, although largely of Victorian origins; at the time McKercher issued his c. 1830 publication it was sparsely settled. McKercher also composed a tune called "Mr. Charles Gibson Pitlochry's Strathspey", presumably a brother or father of Miss Gibson.
