MISS GORDON OF LASMORE'S FAVORITE. Scottish, Strathspey. A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The strathspey appears in the fourth collection of fiddler-composer biography:Robert Petrie (1767-1830), born in Kirkmichael, Perthshire, although was not claimed by him (as are some other tunes in his collection).

Lismore (sometimes Lesmore or Lasmore) and Appin is a parish in Argyllshire, west Scotland, which includes the West Hebridean island of Lismore.
