MISS JOHNSTON OF HILTON [2]. Scottish, Strathspey. D Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. John Glen (1891) finds the earliest appearance of a tune by this name in Daniel Dow's c. 1775 collection (p. 14). The melody appears in Niel Gow’s 2nd Collection of 1778 attributed to Gow himself.
