MISS MARGARET GREIRSON'S. AKA - "Grearson's (Reel)." AKA and see "Circus Reel (1) (The)," "Glasgow Lasses (1) (The)," "Glasgow Lasses (2) (The)." Scottish, Reel (cut time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. John Walsh's "Glasgow Lasses (2) (The)" is the earliest published version of this tune (c. 1737). While there may be other candidates for the person of the title, it perhaps refers to Miss Margaret Grierson (note sp.), daughter of the late James Grierson, Esq. wine merchant, Edinburgh, who died at her house on Buccleugh Street, in 1825 at an advanced age.
