MISS PERCY’S REEL. AKA and see “Jolly Seven (The).” Irish, Reel. Ireland, County Donegal. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The two strains of "Miss Percy's Reel" are also employed as the 3rd and 5th strains of the popular County Donegal reel "Gravel Walks (The)" (or "Gravel Walks to Grannie (The)"). However, the "Gravel Walks (The)" itself is thought to be an amalgam of two reels. Fr. John Quinn finds the reel to be a member of the tune family that includes "Highlandman Kissed His Mother (The)," "Ryan's Rant," "Around the World (1)," "Fairy Hurlers (The)" and others.
