MISS ROBERTSON [2]. Scottish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Glen): AABB (Johnson). Composed by Charles Stewart. Stewart also composed another reel, “Miss Robertson of Claverston,” possibly for the same person. According to David Baptie (Musical Scotland, 1894), Stewart was born around 1770, and was a composer and compiler of dance music. He published two of his own collections of Scottish dance tunes, wherein he describes himself as "musician to the late Mr. Strange." Baptie says his compositions are "of great and undoubted merit."
