MISS WATT('S REEL--NETHER CLUNY). Scottish, Reel. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by William Marshall (1748-1833). According to Moyra Cowie (The Life and Times of William Marshall, 1999), Miss Watt lived at Nether Cluny Farm, at the foot of Jocks Hill near the Dullen Water. See also Marshall's other tune for her, "Miss Watt’s Jig--Nether Cluny." Marshall's reel has currency among Cape Breton fiddlers and has been recorded several times. See also "Nether Cluny."
