Knauff's Virginia Reels, volume I (Baltimore, 1839, No. 7, p. 4). A close version of the tune was printed by Boston music publisher Elias Howe in his Musicians Omnibus Nos. 6 & 7 (1880-1882) under the title "Barcus' Reel."
