"The Mist Covered Mountain" was one of the first jigs composed by Country Clare fiddler Martin "Junior" Crehan (1908-1998), inspired by the world at early morn when he was returning home from a late-night dance. The birds were singing, and a dawn mist covered Mount Callan, and the impression struck Crehan with a sense of wonderment during which the notes of the tune began to form in his mind.
