MITCHELL'S FAVORITE. American, Reel (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. "Mitchell's Favorite" was first published in blackface minstrel performer and composer George H. Coes' Coes Album of Jigs and Reels (1876). The title likely refers to another minstrel performer, Mike Mitchell, for whom see note for "annotation:Mike Mitchell's Favorite Jig."
