MOLLY ZOUCH'S FRISK. English, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was first published in John Hinton's periodical Universal Magazine of Knowledge and Pleasure (London, 1754). In the same year, The Ladies Compleat Pocket-Book, for the Year of Our Lord, 1754 published in London by John Newbury, gave, at the end of the book, directions for dancing thirty new Country Dances for the Year 1754, including "Molly Zouch's Frisk." Subsequently it appeared in John Johnson's 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 7 (London, 1756) and Charles and Samuel Thompson's 1757 country dance collection.
