MONESSEN. American, Reel. USA, southwestern Pa. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A fife tune named for the southwestern Pa. town in which a martial band was organized. Bayard (1981) was not able to trace the tune satisfactorily to antecedents.
