MOTHER'S WALTZ. Old-Time, Waltz. USA, Missouri. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. "Mother's Waltz" is one of the '100 essential Missouri fiddle tunes' according to Missouri fiddler Charlie Walden. Source Vee Latty (1910-1956, Fulton, Calloway County, Missouri, in the Little Dixie region) was the 1928 Missouri state fiddling champion (with over one hundred fiddlers competing), and broadcast on various radio stations. "His wrist action with the bow was the best I ever saw," writes R.P. Christeson (1984).
