MOTHER KILWINNING. Scottish, Strathspey. E Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by Carl Volti, born Archibald Milligan in Glasgow in 1849. Volti, a fiddler, composed many tunes found in the Kerr's collections and also also published several tutors, albums of popular songs, national overtures, etc. (Nigel Gatherer).

Mother Kilwinning [1] is the name of the oldest Masonic lodge in Scotland, and claims to have been founded circa 1140 AD at approximately the same time as the erection of the nearby Kilwinning Abbey.
