Campbell Ardmore's Reel" was composed by Islay fiddler-composer biography:Alexander Mackay (born 1775) for one of the children of Archibald and Helen Campbell of Ardmore, Islay. Farquhard Campbell (1810-1831) was a boy when Mackay composed this tune and died a young man some ten years after Mackay published his collection. Mackay composed tunes for the entire family.
