MR. JAMES DUFF STUART (Aberlour). Scottish, Reel (cut time). G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "Mr. James Duff Stuart" was composed by Aberdeenshire fiddler-composer and Scottish dancing master wikipedia:James_Scott_Skinner (1843-1927). Aberlour is a Speyside distillery located in Banffshire that was founded in 1826. Heavily influenced by its water source, the Ben Rinnes.

There was a James Duff Stuart (1853-1942), born at Moss Cottage, Edinville, Aberlour, Banffshire. Another individual, James Stuart of Rothes (located not far from Aberlour), was a corn miller who got into the whiskey distilling business a few years prior to the publication of Skinner's Miller o' Hirn. No connection can be made with either of these individuals and Skinner.
