MR. SHAW'S JIG. AKA and see "Shane's Fancy." American, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was published more than seventy years after Elias Howe's c. 1880 publication by Northumbrian musicians Alan Hall and W.J. Stafford in their Charlton Memorial Tune Book (1956). It appears under the title "Shane's Fancy," but their source for the melody is unknown. The provenance of the tune remains unknown.
