"Mr. William Campbell Ardmore's Reel" was composed by Islay fiddler-composer biography:Alexander Walker (born 1775) probably for one of the children of Archibald and Helen Campbell of Ardmore. Mackay composed tunes for each member of the family and included them in hisA Collection of Reels, Strathspeys and Slow Tunes (c. 1822). Ancestry.com does not list a William as one of the children born to the couple, but the entry may be incomplete.
