MRS. CARMICHAEL OF SKIRLINGS. Scottish, Slow Strathspey. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by Niel Gow (1727-1807) in honor of the wife of the Honorable William Carmichael of Skirling, an advocate. She was known as Mrs. Carmichael of Saltcoats. She died in 1776.
