MRS. JAMES CHRISTIE. Scottish, "Scottish Minuet" (whole time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by J. Scott Skinner (1843-1927), appearing in The Cairngorm Series, Part 3. The melody, styled a "Scottish Minuet" by Skinner, is actually in 4/4 time and thus not the traditional ¾ time minuet. Rather the term identifies a strathspey that is to be danced by a couple, rather than a solo dance. Hardie states it has the character of a slow strathspey.
