MRS. MARR. Scottish, Reel (cut time). C Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by Aberdeenshire fiddler-composer Alexander Walker (b. 1819) in honor of Mrs. Marr of the Royal Music Saloon, Union Street, Aberdeen, "piano-forte makers to the Queen". The 1833-34 directory for Aberdeen lists Mrs. John Marr, teacher of music at 43 Broad Street, probably the wife of John Marr who is listed as a pianoforte maker. He eventually sold his company in 1875 to Selby, Wood & Co. Mrs. J. Marr, remained in Cliff House and 32 Victoria Street until 1887-88.
