Goodman researchers Hugh and Lisa Shields compare another of Goodman's reels, "Pretty Girls of Gorey (The)" in Book 3 (no. 136a), with "My Bride..." See also County Mayo farmer and fiddler Philip Carolan's (c. 1839-1910) "New Bank of Ireland (The)" for another cognate member of the "Haughs of Cromdale (The)" tune family that is fairly comparable to Goodman's 'Bride' tune.
